Worship Ministry

The worship ministry at Southwinds has one main objective. That objective is to lead the people at Southwinds into truly authentic worship. From the selection of songs to the programming elements, we strive to make our services God honoring and culturally relevant. The worship ministry uses several different teams to accomplish this.

At Southwinds the most important worship team is the congregation. We have adopted the idea that during worship the congregation plays the part of the actors and God is the audience of one. We express our worship in adoration to God’s awesome power, in reverence to His awesome holiness, and thanksgiving to His awesome provision.

If you are looking to get involved with the worship ministry here are some other teams you should know about:

Vocal Teams: These groups are made of people with a special gifting in music. They are auditioned and help lead worship 1-2 times a month.

Band: Our band is made up of many different kinds and levels of players. They all go through an audition process and play 1-2 times a month.

Tech Team: Our tech team is made up of people who desire to aid worship by helping to provide an appropriate worship atmosphere. This team includes people to oversee sound, lighting, and multimedia.

If you are interested in becoming part of the ministry fill out a Worship Ministry questionnaire and bring it to me on Sunday. This will help us to get some basic information about you. We will then contact you and schedule a time to become more acquainted. I also encourage you to read our worship ministry handbook. This will give you a more comprehensive understanding of the worship ministry.
